Comments and Notes:

Madras: International Society for the Investigation of Ancient Civilization, 1980 - near Very Good paperback - 21 b&w ills (star charts & related calculations), mostly pull-outs (some oversized) by G.S. Seshagiri - one chart has shallow fraying along bottom edge (not affecting text); short calculation in ink behind one chart, title in ink on backstrip; otherwise interior near new, unmarked - ills + 61 pages. The aim of the book is to compare the Vedanga Jyotisha (ancient Indian astronomy) with modern astronomy, to illustrate how ancient astronomers viewed the universe and codified their observations; also, how changes made over time have introduced errors into the Vedanga Jyotisha, how to correct them and restore Rishi Vishwamitra's original scientific calendar.
