First Edition/2nd printing - Very Good hardcover/near Good dust jacket (in mylar) - Chicago: Rand McNally & Co., Nov 1969 - 4to/12" tall x 9.25"w - gilt lettered grey cloth; green map endpapers - b&w photos by Eide - faint remainder mark & minor spotting on top edge, minor edgewear at the endpapers; otherwise no markings of any kind - sources, bibliography - 245pp. Dust jacket has sunning with some silverfish damage at the top & bottom of the backstrip, upper edgewear with shallow stains. A photographic chronicle of the Lewis & Clark expedition to explore the Columbia River, accompanied by selections from the original journals, dated 1804-1806, & contemporary letters of relevance; Eide's 57,000 mile, 2-year journey begins, as did the original expedition, at Silver Creek, IN on the Ohio River & ends at the Pacific.
