Abul Hasan Yaminuddin Khusrau, known as Amir Khusrau, (c.1253-1325 A.D.), born in Uttar Pradesh, India, son of an emigrant from Turkestan and an Indian mother. Poet, musician, historian, fluent in Turkish, Arabic, Persian, many North Indian languages and Sanskrit; philosopher and mystic. 12 authors have contributed to this volume, produced also with help from the Amir Khusrau Seventh Centenary National Celebration Committee.
